We Export
COFFEE
Coffee is known to have its origins in Ethiopia. The coffee plant originates in Ethiopia. Ethiopia is the world's seventh-largest producer of coffee and Africa's top producer. The revenues from coffee exports account for 10% of the annual government revenue. Ethiopian coffee is famous for its exquisite, single-origin coffee beans and for being the birthplace of this beloved brew. Coffee trees have existed in the wild for many centuries in Ethiopia. Regions, where some of the best Ethiopian coffee comes from, are Kaffa, Jimma, Yirgacheffe, Harrar, Sidamo, Teppi/Bebeka, Limu, Gimbi/Lekempti, and Illubabor.
OIL SEEDS
Oilseeds are a mainstay of the rural and national economy in Ethiopia. Oilseeds, which are produced by more than 3 million smallholders, are the second-highest export earner for the nation behind coffee. Sesame, ‘Selit’ in its local name, is one of them. A large number of sesame seed varieties exist. The varieties that are well known are Humera Gonder and Wellega. The Humera variety is appreciated worldwide for its aroma and sweet taste. CEREALS
Cereals are any grass cultivated for the edible components of its grain (botanically, a type of fruit called a caryopsis), composed of the endosperm, germ, and bran.
PULSES
Pulses also contribute significantly to Ethiopia’s balance of payments. They are the third-largest export crop after coffee and sesame. Soybean, “Akuri Ater’ in its local name, is increasingly becoming popular and serving as an alternative food and cash crop in the local and international markets has allowed getting the attention of the government and considered in the ECX market since December 18, 2018, in Ethiopia. Its harvesting Season is from December to January and MyWish is now exporting it.
